NEW YORK, NY – Picking up their second win of the season, the Mount Saint Mary College women's volleyball team defeated John Jay on Thursday evening, three sets to none (25-18, 25-17, 25-23). The Blue Knights move to 2-8 overall while the Bloodhounds drop to 2-9.
Freshman
Teresa Sorrentino (Bellerose, N.Y.) tallied a team-high six kills in the match and also recorded the most digs (8) and service aces (6). Freshman
Courtney Kenney (Hicksville, N.Y.) had five kills and seven digs while sophomore
Liz Douress (Rahway, N.J.) had four kills. Junior
Liz Karcher (Franklin Square, N.Y.) added in three kills.
Mount Saint Mary opens their Skyline Conference schedule on Saturday with matches against Polytechnic and Purchase. The Blue Knights are slated to take on Purchase at 1:00 p.m. and Polytechnic at 3:00 p.m.
