BRONX, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's volleyball team blanked Lehman to stay undefeated and advance to 6-0 on the season.

Mount Saint Mary entered tonight's match with a perfect 5-0 record, looking to remain undefeated against 0-4 Lehman College. The Knights got off to a quick start, but the Lightning responded to take an early 5-4 lead. The Mount then erupted for a 15-1 run to regain control, taking a 19-6 advantage. From there, the Knights cruised to a 25-8 victory in the opening set.
The Mount once again jumped out to a fast start in the second set, building a 10-1 lead behind multiple kills from
Emily Hadden and aces from
Julianna Simone. Simone finished the match with a team-high 10 kills and 15 digs. Mount Saint Mary continued its offensive success throughout the second set, leading by as many as 11 points before taking the frame, 25-14.
Lehman refused to go quietly in the third set, taking an early lead and catching the Knights off guard. A pair of kills from
Kaitlin Dillon helped Mount Saint Mary regain the lead at 9-7, but the Lightning kept the set close. Just when the Knights appeared ready to pull away, Lehman battled back and eventually tied the set at 22-22. The Mount came through in the clutch, getting kills from
Emily Baron and
Nicolette Pirro to close out the third set, 25-22, and complete the 3-0 sweep. The victory keeps Mount Saint Mary undefeated at 6-0 on the season.
