Washington, D.C. – The Knights lost in the opening match of the Turk Emekli Classic, falling 3-1 to Gettysburg College in our nation's capital Friday afternoon.

Friday's contest was the first-ever match between the Knights and the Bullets, and the Bullets emerged victorious. Gettysburg struck first, as the Bullets opened the scoring to the tune of a 29th-minute goal by sophomore Julius Rigo on an assist from senior Michael Sack. Rigo was a problem offensively all afternoon, tallying 3 shots during the contest. That goal was the only one of the first half, but the Bullets came out firing to open the second half.
Gettysburg struck again in the 48th minute, doubling their lead on an unassisted goal from junior Dylan Capazero. Gettysburg would find the back of the net yet again in the 66th minute, with senior Gianluca LaBlanc scoring to give the Bullets a 3-0 advantage. Michael Sack and junior Ian Selvaraj both tallied assists, this apple being Sack's second of the game. Gettysburg sophomore Topher Kelley lost the shutout in the 74th minute on a goal from Mount sophomore TJ Mark. The goal, assisted by fellow sophomore Michael Hilas, was the Knights' first goal of the season and Hilas' first point of his career. Despite the late goal, the Knights again struggled to muster an attack, totaling just 3 shots on goal compared to 7 for the Bullets. The Knights look to bounce back in the second and final game of the Classic on Sunday, as they face Catholic University at 3:00 pm.
