THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College men's lacrosse team struggled in its road loss to Maritime.

Mount Saint Mary College took on Maritime College for its second conference game this season. Things would not go as planned from the opening faceoff for the Knights, as the Privateers quickly took control of the game. Maritime scored eight straight goals in the first quarter, with a lot of pressure put on the Mount Saint Mary defense.
Joseph Corallo kept it competitive in the faceoff circle, winning 14 of 26 faceoffs as the freshman continues to be one of the top faceoff specialists in the Skyline. The Privateers added another seven unanswered goals in the second quarter, taking a commanding 15-0 lead at the half.
The Knights would finally get on the board in the third quarter, after defender
Luke Dombroski took the ball all the way up the field himself to find
Hayden Mitchell for the goal.
Robby Maurer buried a shot in the back of the net for another goal for the Mount minutes later. Maritime responded with two goals of their own as Mount Saint Mary trailed 17-2 with just one quarter remaining.
Devin Lanzer would score the last goal for the Knights late in the fourth quarter, as the Mount would ultimately lose 19-3 to Maritime for their first loss in Skyline play.
