Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary College entered conference play today with a road match at Purchase College. Kenny Leen would pick up his first save of the game on the opening possession after breaking the program's all-time saves record in the last game, recording 10 saves in this match. Neither team would score in the opening quarter as this one was poised to be a defensive battle.

Freshman faceoff specialist Joseph Corallo was once again spectacular for the Knights, going 7-11 in the faceoff circle and even recording his first-career assist. Jake Kannenburg nearly broke the scoreless tie, but his shot was stopped by the post midway through the second period. The Mount would finally break the stalemate at 6:16 in the quarter after Tyler Mackay found Brandon Pagano for the freshman-to-freshman connection on the man-up goal.

After just one goal between both teams in the first half, things began to pick up offensively in the second half. Purchase would find the back of the net for their first goal, but moments later, Joseph Corallo would assist Hayden Mitchell for a Knights goal. Mount Saint Mary would score another two goals in the quarter, including an unassisted goal from defender Luke Dombroski. Dombroski and fellow defensive captain Carter Laughman both had great games for the Mount, recording four ground balls and a point apiece.

The Mount found themselves up 4-2 with just one quarter remaining. Laughman would find Devin Lanzer for his second goal to extend the Knights' lead to 5-2, and give them a much-needed cushion. The Panthers were not going away, though, cutting the Mount Saint Mary lead to 5-3 with 4:08 still left on the clock. The Knights' stout defense was able to hold out and give Mount Saint Mary a 5-3 win over Purchase College.
