PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College baseball team was bested in both games of its doubleheader with St. Joseph's Long Island.
Game 1

Mount Saint Mary completed its road stretch at St. Joseph's University Long Island for a Skyline Conference doubleheader. The Knights got off to a great start, with their first five batters getting on base, including singles from
Justin Stella and
Christian Parisa, as the Mount went up 3-0 after the 1st inning. Things quickly flipped in the 2nd inning when the Golden Eagles scored six runs on just three hits to take the lead.
Kaleb Morgan would hit an RBI single in the top of the 3rd to make it 6-4, but the Knights' pitching struggled with their command. The Mount Saint Mary pitching staff hit three and walked 10 batters, as they trailed 12-4 after four innings.
Christian Parisa would single-handedly score a run for the Knights, hitting a double, then stealing third base and scoring off an error. Long Island would score another six runs in the bottom of the 6th to extend their lead to 19-5. The Knights would only be able to score just one more run in the top of the 7th as they dropped game one to the Golden Eagles 19-6.

The Mount looked to rebound in game two against the Golden Eagles. The Knights would go 1-2-3 in the 1st inning, with Long Island scoring one run in the bottom half of the inning to take a 1-0 lead. St. Joseph's would score runs in each of the next two innings as they took a commanding 8-0 lead after the 3rd inning.
Justin Stella led the Knights with two hits on the day and was the only player on Mount Saint Mary to record more than one hit. The Knights were held scoreless until the 7th inning, where they would face a 10-0 deficit.
Reese Kelly singled with one out in the inning, followed by a two-RBI triple from
Noah Anderson to finally get the Mount on the board and make it 10-2. Mount Saint Mary ultimately lost game two to St. Joseph's Long Island 11-2.
