Rapid Recap
The Mount needed to rebound in a very important game two with the Panthers.
Michael Pisseri was given the ball for the second game, and he did not disappoint. The Knights gave him some run support in the top of the 1st with a three-run inning.
Justin Stella led off the game with a double, followed by a single from
Aidan Marshall, who was 3 for 4 on the day. Stella scored off a wild pitch, then
Christian Parisa would hit a two-RBI single to put the Mount up 3-0. Pisseri has been on a roll in his last few outings, as he has now dropped his season ERA to 3.20.
Noah Anderson would hit a one-out triple down the right field line to put himself in scoring position. An RBI single from
Aidan Marshall scored him to extend the Knights' lead to 4-0. Pisseri and the Mount Saint Mary defense did not allow a runner past first base until the 6th inning, where they left both runners stranded. Purchase would lead off the bottom of the 7th with two singles, but
Michael Pisseri locked in to retire the next three batters and get out of the inning unscathed.
Kyle Fives came in to relieve Pisseri with two out in the 8th inning to help Mount Saint Mary come away with a 4-0 win over Purchase College.
