Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary College is coming off back-to-back losses, looking to snap its skid against Purchase College on the road. The Knights' leading scorer this season, Brianna Guglielmo, got the scoring started off an assist from Angelina Donato. The Mount trailed 9-6 early on, but would hold the Panthers scoreless for the remaining 6:11 of the first quarter. They would take advantage with an 11-0 run to take a 17-9 lead.

Maggie Trinkaus would begin to go to work in the second quarter, as she dropped 10 of her career-high 26 points this quarter. Trinkaus stuffed the stat sheet this game, adding 12 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. The Knights had a short rotation this game, with reigning Skyline Rookie of the Week, Gabby Ziegenbalg, being the only player to see action off the bench. Mount Saint Mary shot a game-high 61.54% from the field this quarter, as the Knights looked to get shots inside, rather than from three-point range.

The Mount led 36-26 coming out of the half, but Purchase stayed right in the game, cutting the Knights' lead to 41-35. Mount Saint Mary would lock in on defense once again, holding Purchase scoreless for the final 6:50 in the third, before a last-second make to end the quarter. The Knights also struggled to score, only making one field goal during this time as they led 46-37 with just 10 minutes remaining.

Maggie Trinkaus, not known for her three-point shooting, was 2-3 on the day from beyond the arc, as she was the leading force behind the Knights' offense this game. Back-to-back threes from Trinkaus and Gabby Ziegenbalg, the top three-point shooter in the Skyline, gave the Mount their biggest lead of the game, 59-41. The Panthers would not go away, going on a 10-2 run to make things interesting. The Knights would knock down their free throws down the stretch, with Purchase fouling the Mount with hopes of getting more possessions and making a comeback. Mount Saint Mary would come away with a 66-55 win over Purchase College.
