Luke Dombroski picked up right where he left off last season, forcing a game-high 3 caused turnovers after finishing the 2025 season 2nd in Division III in caused turnovers per game. Micyk recorded all 3 of his assists in the second quarter, dishing out an assist to
Tyler Mackay as the Knights took a 5-2 lead. The Gators scored a much-needed goal with 14 seconds left in the half, as the Knights led 5-3.
The Mount offense would be held scoreless in the third quarter, but they had excellent looks and opportunities to score. Goal luck was not on their side this afternoon, as the Knights hit the post on multiple occasions. Sage would score the lone goal in the quarter, cutting their deficit to just 1 as the Mount led 5-4 heading into the fourth.
Tyler Mackay would find
Robby Maurer for the goal with 11:29 left in the game to put the Knights up 6-4. A two-goal lead in this low-scoring battle seemed like a lot more than it actually was. The Gators would score 2 goals in a 38-second span to tie the game up 6-6. The Mount had a man-up opportunity with the chance to take the lead late in the game, but they were unable to score.
We would head into overtime tied 6-6 with the next team to score walking away with the win.
Joseph Corallo would give the Knights the upper hand with a faceoff win to open the overtime period. Sage would come up with a defensive stand and followed up the ensuing possession with a goal to win the game 7-6.
