Rapid Recap
The Knights found themselves under immediate pressure from the opening whistle. In the first eight minutes, Lasell scored two goals, which wasn't the kind of start the Mount was hoping for after an overwhelming win earlier in the week. Mount Saint Mary was forced to react quickly to the early disadvantage, and they succeeded in doing so as the first half went on, settling into the game and taking possession. Their efforts paid off in the 35th minute when
Grace Morra scored after a stellar pass from
Delisianna Naccarato, halving the deficit and giving Mount Saint Mary momentum going into halftime.
The second half saw both teams tighten up defensively, leading to limited clear-cut scoring chances and a physical battle in the midfield. Mount Saint Mary persisted in moving quickly forward, maintaining excellent control with the ball and attempting to generate momentum with wide plays and short passes. The Knights had a few good chances, including a pair of shots that put the Lasell goalie to the test, but they were unable to find the final touch to equalize the score. Mount Saint Mary applied constant pressure as the game came to a close but Lasell's defense remained strong. The Knights look to continue to learn from these non-conference matches as they get closer to conference play.
