Mount Saint Mary is coming off a dominant 5-0 victory over SUNY Canton, as they had their home opener against SUNY Delhi on Wednesday evening. The Knights opened up the game quickly on offense, with senior J.C. Gutierrez scoring off his own corner kick to put the Mount up 1-0 in the 5th minute. A couple of poor mistakes in the Knights' own end almost cost them a few times early on, with one leading to a shot off the crossbar for the Broncos. Freshman Ethan Wallace put the dance moves on a Delhi defender, drawing a foul in the box for a penalty kick. Mount Saint Mary was unable to convert as the Broncos' keeper made an excellent save. In the 37th minute, Alex Napoli created a great scoring chance, nailing the crossbar and was just inches away from extending the Knights' lead.

The Mount controlled the pace of play in the first half, but they were going to need another solid 45 minutes to come out on top. Noah Horn continued his solid play this season in between the pipes with a couple of saves to start the second half. In the 81st minute, Delhi converted on a through ball to stun the Knights' defense, who had been shut down all game long, tying the game 1-1. Neither team was satisfied with a tie and tried desperately to put one in the back of the net in the final 10 minutes. The Knights had a couple of chances, but were unable to score, walking away with a 1-1 draw.
