Rapid Recap
It was evident from the first whistle that Mount Saint Mary College emerged with drive, determination, and total command as they looked for their first win of the season. The Knights took control right away and didn't turn around, establishing their supremacy over the entire field. Their high-pressing strategy and crisp ball movement left Yeshiva scrambling to find space and time on the ball. It was only right for Junior
Grace Morra, the Knights leading goal scorer in 2024, to open up the scoring for the Mount in the fourth minute of the game. By generating scoring opportunities from every direction and keeping up an aggressive tempo throughout the game, the Knights' offensive unit consistently put pressure on Yeshiva's defense.
The Knights delivered an offensive masterclass, scoring 20 goals with 16 assists in a clinical display of execution and teamwork. Their defensive dominance matched their attacking firepower, as they held Yeshiva without a single shot or offensive opportunity throughout the match. Several Knights also stepped up with standout individual performances to complement the team's dominant showing.
Kaitlyn Shotter,
Isabella Milburn,
Christianna Macchi, and
Rosalia Fornino each recorded their first collegiate goals and assists in a Mount Saint Mary uniform, contributing to the offensive explosion. Sophomore transfer
Morgan Tubbs also made a major impact, netting her first collegiate hat trick and solidifying her presence as a key offensive threat. This was a statement that Mount Saint Mary needed to make as they head into the rest of their non-conference schedule to get ready for the rest of Skyline Conference play.
