Rapid Recap
Clearly determined to get back in the win column during this important run of non-conference games, the Knights came out with energy and passion from the first whistle. In an attempt to grab control and set the tone against a powerful SUNY Oneonta team, Mount Saint Mary advanced early with a high sense of urgency. The team's early pressure demonstrated a laser-like intensity and a will to recover from recent setbacks.

Though they got off to a strong start, the Knights struggled to penetrate Oneonta's well-organized defense and hold the ball for long periods of time in the attacking third. Both teams quickly settled into the match and began applying consistent pressure on Mount Saint Mary's backline. The Red Dragons controlled the ball for much of the first half, forcing the Mount's defense to stay organized and resilient. Oneonta's offensive efforts grew more intense as the half went on, putting the Knights to the test with a string of risky runs and well-placed shots. When Oneonta finally broke through and scored the game's lone goal late in the first half, they led 1-0 after the first 45 minutes of play.

Coming out after the break, Mount Saint Mary made some changes and came back to the field with a more forceful and aggressive stance. The Knights started to press higher up the field in an attempt to take advantage of any midfield errors. More time spent in the attacking third and a discernible improvement in ball movement were the outcomes of their heightened energy. Opportunities were generated by a number of promising runs and through balls, but the Knights were unable to put the final touch on them.
