Mount Saint Mary looked to get back into the win column after drawing their last two matches. There wasn't much offense in the opening portion of the first half until the first shot on goal. In the 16th minute, Cobleskill scored first on an unassisted goal to go up 1-0. The Knights stepped on the gas from here, especially Jeremy Burgos, who had three shots on goal in a short span. This included the Mount's equalizing goal in the 24th minute, assisted by J.C. Gutierrez, to make it 1-1. More offense would follow in the 26th minute, this time for the Tigers, who took back the lead 2-1. Although the Knights continued to dominate in shot attempts and offensive chances, Cobleskill took advantage of their limited opportunities to head into the half with the lead.

Mount Saint Mary was going to need to keep up the offensive intensity, and they did just that. Four different Knights put shots on goal in the first part of the second half, though the Tigers' "bend don't break" defensive strategy continued to prevail. The Mount outshot Cobleskill 17-3 this match, but it's not always about the number of attempts but the quality of attempts as well. Mount Saint Mary was unable to break through the Cobleskill defense in the second half as they lost by the final score of 2-1.
