Baseball Dominates in Doubleheader Sweep Against Old Westbury

(Game 1)

Mount Saint Mary started the scoring in the 2nd when Tyler Crocitto doubled to drive in Luke Barone, taking a 1-0 lead. The Knights broke the game open in the 3rd, scoring five runs—Tyler Van De Bogart's two-RBI single, Barone's sac fly, capped off by Aidan Marshall's two-run bomb—going up 6-0. Old Westbury got on the board in the 4th with a solo homer, making it 6-1. The Panthers added another run in the 5th via an RBI single scoring, cutting it to 6-2.

Mount Saint Mary responded in the bottom of the 5th, plating five more runs with Christian Parisa's RBI single, Barone's RBI double, Marshall's two-RBI single, and Stephen Volk's opposite field shot pushing the lead to 11-2. Horan was dominant striking out 11 and shutting down Old Westbury's offense to secure the complete-game victory 11-2.

(Game 2)

Old Westbury struck first in the 1st, taking a 1-0 lead with a single. Mount Saint Mary came right back in the bottom half scoring four runs on a run helped by an error, Aidan Marshall's two-RBI single, and Stephen Volk's RBI on a fielder's choice—taking a 4-1 lead despite two Old Westbury errors. The Knights extended their lead to 8-1 in the 2nd on Luke Barone's RBI single, Marshall's two-RBI double, and Tyler Crocitto's RBI double.

In the 3rd, Mount Saint Mary piled on four more runs, with Frank Signorelli's RBI double and Barone's RBI single, capped by Crocitto's RBI single, making it 12-1. They added a run in the 4th on Barone's sac fly and scored five more runs in the 5th, highlighted by Christian Parisa's first collegiate home run which was also a grand slam, pushing the lead to 18-1. Old Westbury scratched across one run in the 6th with an RBI single, but Lucas Stackpole finished the 6th and closed out the 7th, securing the mercy-rule win after Peter Pappalardo held the Panthers down for 5.2 innings.
