St. Joseph's took an early lead in the 2nd scoring on a bases-loaded walk after a Mount Saint Mary error, making it 1-0. The Golden Eagles extended their advantage to 4-0 in the 3rd, capitalizing on two Mount Saint Mary errors scoring on a steal attempt and a sac fly. The Knights responded in the bottom of the 3rd cutting the lead in half to 4-2 with Noah Anderson's RBI double and Chris Calvario's RBI groundout, helped by St. Joseph's errors. The lead was pushed to 5-2 in the 4th on a strikeout drop third strike.
Mount Saint Mary narrowed it to 5-3 in the 6th with Luke Barone's RBI single scoring Christian Parisa, who reached on an error. Joseph Moratori shut down St. Joseph's in the 6th and 7th, striking out three. The Knights would not go down in the 7th with Elijah Duphrey starting off the inning with a walk and Noah Anderson following up with a double. The Knights cut it down to 5-4 with Frank Signorelli's RBI single. After Chris Calvario walked, the stage was set for the Knights to walk it off. Coming up was Tyler Van De Bogart with bases loaded and he came through for the Knights roping a double down the first baseline ending the game in walk off fashion 6-5.

The Knights broke the game open in the 4th, scoring ten runs. Stephen Volk's two-RBI single, Signorelli's RBI single, and Christian Parisa's two-RBI double highlighted the outburst, pushing the lead to 19-4. St. Joseph's fought back in the 5th with a sac fly and an RBI single, and added one in the 6th with a bases-loaded walk off making it 19-7. Beneway closed out the 7th, securing the mercy-rule victory after Peter Pappalardo held things down for 5.1 innings.
