Rapid Recap
The Mount Saint Mary men's lacrosse team looked to start off conference play strong after some rocky non-conference games. USMMA came out strong right from the opening whistle. They got on the board quickly and kept the pressure going through the entire game. Mount Saint Mary was able to get on the board when
Tim Doyle added back to back goals for the Knights after multiple shots on goal. USMMA continued to pressure the Knights and added more goals to the scoreboard.
Kenny Leen continued to be a bright spot for the Knights, blocking 15 of the Mariners shots.
Bobby DeSantis was a key contributor in the face-off circle to keep the Knights hopes alive. The Mariners did not let up as they ripped off 23 of their total 48 shots in the second half. The Knights could not handle USMMA's constant attack as the Mariners were able to capture a heavy lead in the third quarter. Mount Saint Mary kept fighting and throughout the second half they were able to slowly create some offense against USMMA's dominant defense.
Chris Murolo added a goal for the Knights from a man-up opportunity but that was all the Knights were able to do. Mount Saint Mary fell to USMMA 20-3.
