Rapid Recap
The Mount Saint Mary men's lacrosse team came out hot right from the opening whistle. Less than two minutes into the game, Larry Frank scored his first of the night off of a pass from Joe Keating. The Knights were dominant from the start. Bobby DeSantis was stellar in the center circle this evening going 13-for-20 while scooping up 11 ground balls. The Knights ripped a shot that was saved by the Wilkes goalkeeper but Larry Frank was on the doorstep to put the ball in the back of the cage. A face-off win turned into the Knights adding another goal to the board off of a fast-break transition. Wilkes' offense slowly got started as they started putting more pressure on the Knights. They added a goal to the board but Joe Keating answered right away to keep the lead. The second quarter was all about defense. Wilkes came out hot but Kenny Leen made some key saves to keep the Colonel's at bay. The Knights kept the pressure high but were unable to get ahead as the first half came to a close.

Wilkes took a quick lead as the second half began. Kenny Leen continues his stellar junior campaign stopping 13 of Wilkes shots and being a key player in the Knights transition. Leen started what would become the Knights best chance of a comeback. Off of a save, Leen found Joe Keating on the attacking half to give the Knights their first goal of the second half. The Knights kept the pressure going and Tim Doyle capitalized on a man-up opportunity off of a pass from Henry Micyk. With 15:00 minutes left to play the Knights continued to push. Larry Frank added his third of the night to bring the Knights within one. Wilkes added two goals to retake the lead but the Knights continued to push as they looked to complete the late-game rally. Frank added his fourth goal of the night to give the Mount some hope. Even though Wilkes continued to grow their lead, Hayden Mitchell added one last goal but it wasn't enough. The Knights were unable to complete the late-game push and fell to Wilkes 12-9.
