Rapid Recap
The Mount Saint Mary men's lacrosse team struggled to get things going against FDU-Florham this evening. FDU got on the board within the first minute of play. The Knights were able to put a few shots on the cage but it wasn't enough. Goalkeeper Kenny Leen was once again the Knights backbone, Leen made 11 saves in the cage. The Mount struggled to handle the constant pressure from FDU and the Devils added two more goals to wrap up the first quarter. The second quarter started just like the first with FDU adding another two goals to lead the game by 5. Senior Tim Doyle put the Knights on the board off of a pass from Joe Keating. The Knights didn't get many more chances and the Devils led the game 9-1 at the end of the first half.
The second half wasn't much better for the Knights. Kenny Leen made a few quick saves off the bat but they continued to struggle offensively. There was more back and forth action between both squads. Mount Saint Mary's defense was able to cause multiple turnovers to get the ball back in their hands. Juniors Carter Laughman and Luke Dombroski continue to be keys to the Mount's defense combining for eight ground balls and five caused turnovers. The Knights continued to battle through the fourth quarter. Senior Larry Frank was able to add two more goals for the Mount to round out the game. Men's lacrosse looks to bounce back next week when they face-off Wilkes before starting conference play.
