Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary is coming off a tight win over Bryn Athyn and looked to build a win streak against another Pennsylvania foe in Gwynedd Mercy. The Griffins struck first, but Joe Keating would respond with a man-up goal on an extra-man opportunity to tie the game 1-1. Bobby DeSantis came back after missing the last game and filled a much-needed hole in the faceoff circle, winning 13 of his 22 attempts. Henry Micyk set up Chris Murolo a minute later to give the Knights the lead. Gwynedd Mercy responded back with two goals within a 30-second span to steal the lead right back. Tim Doyle tied the game back up less than a minute later, but the Mount would trail after the first quarter 4-3. The Griffins extended their lead to 3 as the Knights's turnovers started to catch up to them. Joe Keating, Larry Frank, and Chris Murolo all scored in the second quarter, yet Gwynedd Mercy still led 9-6 at the half.

Kenny Leen did his thing in net making 18 saves on the day and Christopher Blatz had a breakout game with a career-high 6 ground balls. The Griffins added to their lead on the opening possession of the third quarter as the Knights now trailed 10-6. Mount Saint Mary needed to close the gap if they were to come back, but 4 taken penalties in the quarter made it difficult to get anything going. Joe Keating added another goal, though Gwynedd Mercy responded, keeping their distance on the scoreboard. The Griffins went up by as much as 6 in the fourth quarter with the Knights struggling to score. Defender Luke Dombroski would record his first career point on an assist to Joe Keating. Larry Frank cut their deficit to 4 with a man-up goal, but it was too late as the Knights fell to the Griffins 13-9.
