NEWBURGH, NY – The Mount Saint Mary College men's lacrosse team got their first win of the season against Rosemont College on Saturday afternoon.

The Mount Saint Mary men's lacrosse team was looking for their first win of the season when they took the field against Rosemont College. The Knights got off to a slow start as the Ravens were able to go up 3-0 at the beginning of the first quarter. Mount Saint Mary was able to get some shots off but they couldn't capitalize until
Bobby DeSantis scored his first goal of the season to get the Knights on the board. This was a game-changer for the Knights as the offense erupted. Senior attackman
Joe Keating scored his first of a career-high five goals for the Knights.
Larry Frank quickly tied the game up. As the clock winded down,
Bobby DeSantis got a pass off to
Devin Lanzer who scored his first goal of the season to give the Knights their first lead of the afternoon.
Both teams traded shots on goal to begin the second quarter but both goalies were able to make the save. It was a quiet day in the office for Mount Saint Mary's
Kenny Leen but he continued to be the backbone of the defense making five saves on the day. Rosemont turned the ball over and the Knights were able to capitalize. Junior defenseman
Carter Laughman scored his first career goal to give the Mount a 5-3 lead. The Knights's offense was dominant and they knew this was their game to win as they put up 52 shots.
Tim Doyle scored his first goal of the season and
Larry Frank added his second goal of the game scoring back-to-back goals after firing multiple shots on the cage.
Bobby DeSantis was dominant in the face-off circle once again securing 10 out of 14 for the Knights. Mount Saint Mary continued to dominate, especially
Joe Keating who completed a hat trick to finish off the first half. Rosemont was able to score off of an extra-man opportunity but the score was in favor of the Knights 9-4.
The second half started with a lot of back-and-forth action. Mount Saint Mary continued to fire shots on goal but couldn't find the back of the net. Rosemont added two goals in the third quarter for the start of a comeback that was quickly shattered when Keating scored off of a man-up opportunity for his fourth of the game off of a pass from Frank. Rosemont struggled to find their footing and couldn't handle the Knights' constant pressure.
Devin Lanzer potted his second goal of the game to round out the scoring in the third quarter. The Knights had a strong lead heading into the final quarter of the game. Rosemont was able to add two more goals in the fourth quarter but never came close to regaining the lead they once had to start the game.
Joe Keating wrapped up the scoring for the Knights adding his fifth and final goal to the board. Mount Saint Mary won their first game of the 2025 season 12-8.
