Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary was riding a 5-game win streak including an overtime win over St. Joseph's Long Island coming into their match with Yeshiva. The Knights had 8 days off and their time off from in-game action showed. Sara Cashin got the first made bucket for the Mount, but they would only shoot 33.8% from the field on the day. The Knights held the lead for most of the quarter before the Maccabees tied things up at the 2:34 mark. Casey Love would score moments later to put Mount Saint Mary back up 14-12 at the end of the quarter. Maggie Trinkaus scored the first 5 points of the 2nd quarter for the Knights but Yeshiva continued to stay in the game. The Maccabees shot 61.54% from the field in the quarter as the Mount seemed to have no answer defensively. The Knights held just a 2-point lead heading into the half.

Up just 30-28 on the road, Mount Saint Mary was going to have to improve their play if they were going to come out on top. Though there was a big disparity in each team's record, the game would come down to the wire. The Knights 21 offensive rebounds played a major role in their ability to stay in the game. Shannon Phelan had some big points for the Mount to round out the third quarter as they led 46-38. A three-pointer from Casey Love followed by a Kate Hughes layup put the Knights up by 10 points early on in the fourth. The Maccabees cut their deficit to just 5, but a Lauren Petrie dagger with 2:06 left gave Mount Saint Mary a 10-point lead. The Knights would escape an upset by beating Yeshiva 62-54.
