Mount Saint Mary was coming off a big win heading into their final match-up of the Hudson Valley Classic with Vassar College. The Knights struggled to get the scoring going as Vassar jumped out to a 14-0 lead.
JP Egan would find
Matthew Walsh for the Mount's first bucket of the game. The Brewers continued to pile on the points, leading by as much as 26 in the first half. The Knights got something going with threes from
JP Egan and
Anthony Marzziotti on back-to-back possessions as part of an 8-0 run. Mount Saint Mary would find themselves down 54-29 at the half with a big hole to climb out of in the second.
Matt Monaco provided a career-high 9 points off the bench for the Mount, but Vassar's high-powered offense was proving to be too much for the Knights.
Liam Lynch would slither his way into the paint for a couple of buckets for the Mount and even found his way to the free-throw line. A 17-2 run from the Brewers helped them crack the 100-point mark as they built upon their lead late in the game.
Jorge Jimenez would find
Brody Schuh for a bucket as both players got career firsts in assists and points, respectively. The Knights would ultimately fall to the Brewers by the final score of 105-58.
