Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary was back at home as they were set to battle another undefeated foe in Russell Sage College. JP Egan would open up the scoring for the Knights in the first minute with a made three-pointer. The Gators took the lead early on, but the Knights hung in there and attacked the paint. Matthew Walsh had a season-best 14 points as he led the team in scoring this evening. Sage took a 19-11 lead about midway through the first half before the Mount would call a timeout to talk things over. Liam Lynch was a marksman from beyond the arc this game, as one of his three made three pointers this game gave the Knights a 30-29 lead late in the half. Lynch has been extremely efficient shooting the ball for the Knights this year, shooting 55.6% from the field and 62.5% from beyond the arc. The Gators ended the first on a 7-0 run to take a 39-34 lead entering halftime.

Matthew Walsh opened up the second period of play with an acrobatic and-one to bring the Knights to within 2 points, but Sage would score 10 straight points right after. For the third straight game, Matt Monaco has scored a new career-high in points, as he provided a spark off the bench offensively and on the glass. He would score 6 of the next 8 points for Mount Saint Mary as they trailed just 51-45. The biggest issue for the Mount in the second half was their inability to get stops, with the Gators shooting 55.2% from the field this half. The Knights continued to battle throughout the game, playing hard, but Sage was too locked in offensively, and their full-court press gave the Mount fits all throughout the game. Russell Sage would eventually defeat Mount Saint Mary by the final score of 85-74.
