NEWBURGH, NY – The Mount Saint Mary women's soccer team returned to the win column in dominant fashion on Senior Night, shutting out Maritime with an impressive 9-0 victory.

Mount Saint Mary celebrated their senior class in dramatic fashion with a big conference win over SUNY Maritime.

Emma Mihale, and
Lily Tanko have contributed so much to the women's soccer program over the past four years and tonight they left it all out on Kaplan Field. The Knights opened the scoring just over eight minutes in with a strike from
Faith Welsh, assisted by
Delisianna Naccarato. Senior forward
Lily Tanko then scored her first goal of the evening with assists from
Emma Mihale and
Kaitlin Hansen. The Knights intensity was high and they controlled possession of the ball and put the Privateers on their heels. Mihale added a goal of her own, finishing a precise pass from
Kaitlyn Shotter, who then found the back of the net herself just minutes later. The Knights had a commanding 5-0 lead after forty-five minutes of play when Welsh connected with Hansen, who then passed the ball to Tanko, who then added her second goal of the evening.
The Knights continued to pump the gas in the second half and continued to control possession of the ball.
Delisianna Naccarato found
Faith Welsh for the second time tonight to keep the Knights momentum going.
Lily Tanko continued her stellar night in the 58th minute, completing her hat trick with a powerful strike off an assist from Welsh. Just four minutes later,
Maria Baldwin stepped up to the spot and calmly converted a penalty kick, extending the lead to 8-0. The scoring was rounded out in the 65th minute when
Kaitlin Hansen tucked a low-left shot into the net, set up by sharp passes from
Lily Tanko and
Kaitlyn Shotter. Mount Saint Mary's offense remained relentless, and their teamwork and precision were on full display from start to finish.
