Mount Saint Mary came into this road match against the team that spoiled their playoff hopes last season. The Knights were looking for a positive result against one of the top teams in the Skyline.
Julianna Ewashko came up with a couple of big saves for the Mount in the 18th minute, as the freshman keeper got the nod for today's game. The Knights were held without a shot on goal until the 41st minute, when
Kaitlyn Shotter was able to get a couple of chances for Mount Saint Mary, but we would head into the half scoreless.
In the 56th minute of the second half, the Knights would draw a foul in the box and set up a penalty kick attempt for Kaitin Hansen. The Golden Eagles' keeper would make the save as we still stayed all tied up. St. Joe's would find a second chance shot after a block from the Knights and put it in the back of the net to end the stalemate as Long Island took a 1-0 lead. Mount Saint Mary continued to fight and put the pressure on the Golden Eagles with 3 shots and 2 on goal in a five-minute span. With time running out in the 81st minute,

Faith Welsh for the crucial equalizer to tie the game 1-1. Neither team would get a shot on goal in the final 9 minutes as we ended in a 1-1 draw.
