Rapid Recap
The Knights had a slow start, managing only two shots in the first half while Mount Saint Vincent had eleven. The Dolphins dominated possession, kept the ball solidly in the attacking third, and exerted pressure right away. Mount Saint Vincent set the tone early and tested the Knights' defense throughout the first half. Mount Saint Mary"s goalkeeper
Julianna Ewashko was called into action early and often, making four key saves to keep the scoreline from growing even more lopsided. Despite those efforts between the posts and by the defensive line, the lack of offensive production left the Knights struggling to gain any footing.
Despite finding a little more rhythm in the second half, Mount Saint Mary was unable to overcome the early setback. With better ball movement and more chances to score in the attacking third, the Knights emerged from halftime with greater energy. With six shots in the second half, Mount Saint Mary began to put the Mount Saint Vincent defense under far more consistent pressure. The Knights played with greater intensity and purpose, pushing higher up the field and challenging UMSV's back line in ways they hadn't during the first half. Despite the improved energy and execution, the gap built in the first half proved too much to close.
