Mount Saint Mary looked to build onto their winning streak as they traveled down to Old Westbury College. The Knights came out hot with a 10-0 run ignited by a
Margaret Trinkaus layup. The Mount had four scorers in double figures as 10 of 11 active players scored. The Knights would go on another big 17-0 run as they led 27-2 after the first quarter. Eight different players scored during the opening quarter as the Mount shot 54.17% from the field. Entering the second quarter, the Knights continued to play well as they were up 38-2 before an Old Westbury three-pointer. Graduate forward
Erin Lofaro continues her dominant three-game stretch as she is averaging 18.0 points on 64.1% shooting and 6.7 rebounds a game. Mount Saint Mary led 44-9 at the half as they held the Panthers to another single-digit scoring quarter.
Elizabeth Lofaro started up the second half with two quick three-pointers as she tied her season-high with five makes from beyond the arc. The team not only shot the ball well on offense but also protected the ball too. The Knights had their season-low in turnovers just two games prior at Purchase and beat that yet again with only 6 conceded against Old Westbury. Mount Saint Mary played mistake-free basketball, not allowing any points off turnovers, second-chance points, or fast break points this game. After three, the Mount held a commanding 70-13 lead with just 10 minutes to go.
Sara Cashin, who has been a menace on the offensive glass all season long, secured five offensive boards this game as the Knights had 29 total, more than they had on the defensive end (23) and more than Old Westbury had all game (13). Mount Saint Mary finished this game off by defeating the Panthers 97-24.
