NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Mount Saint Mary College men's basketball lost to Farmingdale State College Saturday afternoon.
The Basics
Score: Mount Saint Mary College 69, Farmingdale 95
Records: Mount Saint Mary College (1-14, 0-6 Skyline) | Farmingdale (8-7, 5-1)
Rapid Recap
Both teams started off hot making their first two shots including three pointers from
JP Egan and
Connor Cyran for the Knights.
Rob Geremino tacked another three on the board for the Knights as they led 9-5 early on. From here the Mount went cold and Farmingdale would go up 21-9 just a few moments later.
AJ Piedra squashed the Rams run, but they were still able to stay red hot, shooting 61.76% from the field and 58.33% from three in the first half.
Ryan Graham was very efficient for Mount Saint Mary as he has attacked the paint a lot more in recent games and has found success. Graham and
JP Egan were two of the Knights lone bright spots this game as Egan has played well since stepping into a starting role. At the end of the first half, the Mount trailed Farmingdale 56-26 with only 20 minutes to make some sort of a comeback.
Coming out of the half, the Knights were able to score, but their inability to stop the Rams on defense and string together a run prevented them from chipping away at a large Farmingdale lead. A good hustle play by Daniel Herzer led to a
Connor Cyran bucket off the offensive board. One thing about Coach
Ryan Kadlubowski's squad is that they always continue to hustle and play to the final whistle no matter the score or outcome. Ultimately, Mount Saint Mary would lose this game to the Rams by the final score of 95-69.
