Rapid Recap
The Knights started off hot straight from kickoff, bring pressure up front to force a corner. Junior J.C. Gutierrez serviced a beautiful ball into the box where Quinn Tynan made a great touch for Marco Mazzarelli to head the ball in for the first goal of the match a minute and a half in. The Knights weren't shy to shoot tonight as they peppered the back line and keeper of the Kangaroos with shots. Only minutes later Tynan set up Mazzarelli for his second goal of the match off the one timer. Canton would get their first shot on goal 17 minutes in, but Caesar Martinez would have none of it tonight as he made the save. With 23 minutes off the clock, Marco Mazzarelli positioned himself perfectly to draw the foul inside the box for a penalty kick. Cool, calm, and collected Mazzarelli delivered to bring the score to 3-0 and record his first career hat trick. The Knights continued to do a great job controlling the ball, but a plethora of subs for the Kangaroos changed the pace of the game. Mount Saint Mary wasn't able to record a shot on goal the rest of the half, but still were playing solidly.

The second half would start off fairly similar to the end of the first as the Knights created many chances, but could not finish. A few yellow cards were passed out in the second half as the competitive nature of the game took over. Freshman forward Sean Watson buried a through ball into the back of the net, but the offsides flag was up keeping the score 3-0. The Knights played well across the board getting good minutes from players like Dale Allison and Ryan Kieser off the bench. The offsides flag was not in the favor of either team tonight, as the Mount was a little jumpy to make their runs. The second half saw neither team score with a final of 3-0 Mount Saint Mary.
