Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse | | D.J. Bevivino

Men's Lax Falls Late to Marywood

Newburgh, NY- The Mount Saint Mary College Knights Men's Lacrosse team fell to Marywood University 4-3 in their season home opener on Saturday, March 2nd on a rain soaked Kaplan Field.

Despite a strong defensive performance, the Knights were unable to overcome a slow start offensively. Marywood jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first quarter and held onto the lead for the majority of the game.

Game Highlights:

The Knights were led offensively by sophomore attacker Tim Doyle, who scored one goal and had one assist.
Junior midfielder Hayden Mitchell also scored a goal for the Knights.
Senior goalie Kenny Leen made 12 saves for the Knights.
Head Coach Justin Lorenzo's Comments:

"Great defensive battle, but we couldn't pull it out in the end," said Head Coach Justin Lorenzo. "We need to stay true to our game plan and the looks will come on offense. Defense will keep it up and create opportunities for the offense. We'll remember this feeling and be ready for New Paltz."

Looking Ahead:

The Knights will look to bounce back next Saturday, March 6th, when they host SUNY New Paltz at 7:00 pm.
