BRONX, N.Y. — Women's swimming took on Lehman College and Adelphi University in a non-conference sprint meet tonight, mixing in 50-yard races of each stroke. They beat Lehman College (152-61) and lost to Adelphi University (167-42).
The team of Stefanie Sommer , Grace MacHugh , Cayla Nicholas and Meghan Wurster picked up second place in the 200-yard medley relay to start off the night, coming in at 2:04.95.
Wurster earned two individual wins for the Knights tonight, in the 1000-yard freestyle (12:05.16) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:48.17).
Nicholas cruised to second place in the 100-yard freestyle (59.05) and the 50-yard butterfly (29.76).
MacHugh had plenty of strong swims as well, coming in second for the 100-yard breaststroke (1:16.55) before picking up a couple third place swims in the 50-yard breaststroke (35.84) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:12.09).
Sommer and Victoria DeLuca picked up third place swims as well, in the 50-yard freestyle (29.43) and 100-yard backstroke (1:30.47), respectively.
Women's swimming will be on the road again to Delhi, N.Y. tomorrow for another non-conference matchup against SUNY Delhi and the Fashion Institute of Technology at 12 PM.
