NEWBURGH, N.Y. — Women's swimming made waves in their meet against Bard College this evening, starting the new year with a win (89-55).
Meghan Wurster kicked off the night with a win in the 1000-yard freestyle (12:21.62), before a second-place swim in the 200-yard individual medley (2:38.49) and a win in the 500-yard freestyle at a time of 5:57.00.
Grace MacHugh earned herself three first-place finishes, in the 200-yard freestyle (2:15.99), the 200-yard individual medley (2:32.67) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:17.86).
Cayla Nicholas picked up first place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.66, before placing second in the 100-yard butterfly (1:14.09) and the 100-yard freestyle (1:08.37).
Stefanie Sommer won the 100-yard backstroke (1:12.20) and earned second in the 50-yard freestyle (29.40).
The Knights will be back in the pool this Saturday for their senior meet at 12 PM, when they host SUNY Purchase, John Jay College and SUNY Delhi.
