Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary looked to snap its losing streak while shorthanded against Mount Saint Vincent at home. The match started off slow as both teams tried to get a feel for the game. 12 minutes in, Knights keeper Caesar Martinez made an acrobatic save to deflect the ball over the crossbar and prevent an early deficit for the Mount. That would be the only shot on goal for either squad in the first half as a majority of the first 45 minutes was played in the midfield. Junior midfielder Quinn Tynan did provide a great look off the break for the Knights sending the ball just wide of the far side of the goal at the end of the half.

The Dolphins attempted to create more scoring chances, but could not connect with anything on goal. They had a good chance with a header off a corner kick missing a few feet from the far post. The intensity really picked up in the second half as Dale Allison provided one of the best scoring opportunities for the Knights in the 70th after nailing the crossbar with his strike just outside the box. UMSV broke the scoreless tie off a mistake from Mount Saint Mary to go up 1-0 in the 76th minute. Only six minutes later, the Dolphins added to their lead with a cross through the box. Freshman Jeremy Burgos provided some hope in the 85th minute after catching the Mount Saint Vincent goalie sleeping and striking an absolute bullet over his head from over 40 yards out. It was too little too late though for the Knights as they could not mount a comeback in the final minutes, losing 2-1.
