PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's soccer team tied Manhattanville University in an intense Skyline Conference match-up.

Mount Saint Mary came out fast and furious against a strong Manhattanville squad. The Knights struck first just a little more than four minutes into the match. Sophomores
Grace Morra and
Faith Welsh connected to score the first goal of the match with Welsh assisting Morra who leads the team with six goals this season. The game continued to go back and forth with the Valiants putting a lot of pressure on the Knights. Manhattanville was able to break through the Mounts defense and even the score during the 21st minute of the match. The Knights and Valiants traded shots on goal for the remainder of the first half but both teams couldn't get ahead as the score was tied at one going into the break.
The Knights came out just like they did to begin the match. They attempted to press the Valiants defense right out of the gate, but Manhattanville struck first in the second half and led the game 2-1. Graduate goalkeeper
Christina Kakavas would continue to shine in goal making some big saves and keeping the Knights in the match. During the 84th minute of the match, junior
Lily Tanko tied the game for Mount Saint Mary with one of the biggest goals of her career off an assist from
Kaelyn Greene. Both teams continued to go back and forth through the end of the match with hopes of getting extra points for a post season push. The match would end in a 2-2 tie as both teams stay put in the 6th and 7th spots in the Skyline. The Knights travel to New York University on Wednesday night and take on the Violets at 7 PM.
