Knights Fight Back But Fall Short to UMSV

Bronx, NY- Despite a valiant comeback effort, the Mount Saint Mary College Knights (5-15, 3-8 Skyline) fell 80-73 to the University of Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins (8-13, 6-5 Skyline) on Tuesday night at Peter Jay Sharp Center.

Connor Cyran paced the Knights with 23 points, shooting 7-for-10 from the field and 9-for-12 from the free throw line. Jayden Figueroa added 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Matt Walsh chipped in 7 points and 3 rebounds.

UMSV was led by Connor Wein's 20 points, while Kevin Agyemang and Louis Vidal each scored 17 points.

The Knights trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half before cutting the deficit to 49-39 at halftime. In the second half, MSMC battled back to take a 58-57 lead with under 7 minutes remaining. However, the Dolphins responded with a 10-2 run to regain control and hold on for the victory.

"Tough loss tonight," Head Coach Ryan Kadlubowski said. "We made too many errors that allowed them to build a big lead. We battled back and gave ourselves a chance but it was not enough. Connor Cyran and Jayden Figueroa had great games for us, and we need to keep building on that positive effort."
