Mount Saint Mary College Knights Triumph Over SUNY Maritime

Newburgh, NY - The Mount Saint Mary College (MSMC) Women's Volleyball team showcased their strength and determination as they triumphed over SUNY Maritime in a hard-fought four-set match. The final scores were 24-26, 25-21, 25-20, and 25-23.

**Match Highlights:**

- Jonaiya Williams was a standout performer for the Knights, recording an impressive 21 kills and contributing significantly to the victory.
- Erin Lema added 9 crucial kills and was a key player in both the offensive and defensive efforts.
- Vanessa Mleczko, with her outstanding 19 digs and 5 assists, played a pivotal role in the Knights' success.
- Aubriana Boyce's 23 assists helped orchestrate the team's attack efficiently.

The Knights displayed resilience and composure throughout the match, rallying after dropping the first set and showcasing their prowess by securing the next three sets to clinch the victory. Their strong blocking and defensive efforts were instrumental in fending off SUNY Maritime's challenges.

"Janaiya was amazing tonight leading our offense, but the defense was anchored by Erin (Lema) and Vanessa (Mleczko).  But it was out leaders that stood out.  Mary (Milano) and Erin showed great poise and leadership on the court.  When the match was close they did a great job keeping the team calm and focused." Said Coach Strano.

The Knights have a busy week this week, playing road games on Thursday, Saturday (dual) and Sunday.  With tonight's victory the team has improved their conference record to 3-2.
