Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Soccer team closed out the week with a 5-0 non-conference loss at home against Skidmore on Saturday afternoon. Caroline Brucato (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) made three saves and Marilena Mangiaracina (Franklin Square, N.Y.) made six saves for the Mount.
Saturday's loss sends the Knights to 1-6-1 overall on the season while Skidmore improves to 4-1.
First Half

The first 15 minutes of the game were tightly contested before the scoring began. Skidmore's Kat Dunn scored the first goal in the 16th minute off a pass from Ella Stone.

Isabella Nevin would strike again for Skidmore two minutes later, this one on an unassisted goal to give the Thoroughbreds a 2-0 lead.

Skidmore held the advantage in shots 13-2 through the first 45 minutes of play.

Corner kicks were an even 1-1 in the first half.
Second Half

Skidmore moved their lead to 3-0 at the 57:05 mark of the game on a goal from Paige Karl with Izzy Sullivan on the feed.

The Thoroughbreds pushed the margin to 4-0 three minutes later, with Sullivan scoring this time on an assist from Madison Bourassa.

The final goal of the contest would come at the 66:43 mark from Emily Vinick, to make the score 5-0.

The advantage in shots went to Skidmore 10-3 in the second half.

For The Knights

Maggie Zecca (Mountainside, N.J.) led the Mount in shots with two, while Angie Mainiero (Vineland, N.J.) and Wendy Guerra (Newburgh, N.Y.) each put a shot on goal.

Brucato made three stops in the net for the Knights.

Mangiaracina made six saves in goal, giving her 14 on the season.
