Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Volleyball team opened Skyline Conference play Thursday night and cruised past Yeshiva 25-4, 25-12, 25-4.
Grace Riddle (Wantagh, N.Y.) finished the contest with 15 kills with
Haley Houghton (Bellerose, N.Y.) adding seven winners.
Thursday's sweep pushes Mount Saint Mary to 3-4 overall on the season and 1-0 in conference play, while Yeshiva falls to 0-7 overall and 0-6 in conference action.
How It Happened
- Mount Saint Mary controlled the match from the start, hitting .609 in the first set while putting away 15 kills.
- The Knights scored the first five points of the match and used a 14-0 run to open a 19-2 advantage on a Riddle winner.
- Mount Saint Mary added 11 kills in the middle frame and opened a 21-9 lead on a Mary Milano (East Patchogue, N.Y.) kill.
- After Yeshiva strung together three straight points, the Knights moved in front 2-0 in the match following a 4-0 run capped by a Houghton service ace.
- The Knights continued to dominate in the third frame, adding 12 more kills and hitting .393 as a unit.
- The Macs held leads of 1-0 and 2-1, their only advantages of the night, before the Mount ripped off nine straight points to surge in front 10-2.
- Mount Saint Mary used another 14-0 run, featuring a pair of Houghton winners, to move in front 24-3.
- Houghton put the match away with her seventh winner of the night to move the Knights to within a match of the .500 mark on the season.

- Riddle finished the night with 15 kills, 11 coming in the opening set, and hit a blistering .636 on the night. She added two aces, three digs and a block on the night for the Mount.
- Houghton put away a season-high seven kills for the Knights and chipped in four digs and a pair of aces.
- Erin Lema (Centereach, N.Y.) totaled five kills and seven digs, hitting .444 in two sets on Thursday.
- Fran Cammarata (Carmel, N.Y.) rounded out the night with 21 assists, two kills, four digs and a match-high five service aces.
- Angelyse Orellana (Newark, N.J.) handed out eight assists and led the Mount with nine digs in the contest.

- Shany Elmaleh led the team with two kills and added nine digs.
- Ashley Botnick led all players in the match with 16 digs and added an ace.
