Knights Continue Season Opening Road Trip At Lasell

Knights posted season opening victory at Alvernia

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Lacrosse team plays the second game of a three-game road trip to open the season Saturday afternoon at Lasell. Live Stats and Video will be available for the 2:00 p.m. face-off from Newton, Mass.
 
Mount Saint Mary posted a 13-3 win at Alvernia in its season opener last weekend to move to 1-0. Lasell has dropped its first two contests of the year and enters Saturday's tilt at 0-2.
 
At A Glance: Nine different players scored for the Mount in the season opener, led by a hat trick from Colby Martin (Huntington, N.Y.). Sean Mueller (Pleasantville, N.Y.) and Nick Guerllo (Selden, N.Y.) each tallied twice against Alvernia with Mueller adding a pair of assists.
 
Robert Root (Scotch Plains, N.J.) went 10-for-13 in face-offs in the victory and collected four groundballs with Ryan Olmstead (Millbrook, N.Y.) leading the team in groundballs with five to go along with three points.
 
Brian Esposito (Floral Park, N.Y.) supported the offense in the season opening win with three points and joined Joseph Angelillo (Pompton Plains, N.Y.) with a pair of caused turnovers.
 
Devin Kelley (Hebron, Conn.) picked up Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors following six saves in 45 minutes of work at Alvernia.
 
Scouting Lasell: The Lasers enter Saturday's contest at 0-2 after falling to MIT 18-4 and Roger Williams 16-6.
 
Four players sit atop the team leaderboard with two goals, including Landon Reyes who paces the team with three points.

David Burke leads the way with eight groundballs in the early season for Lasell with Casey Hart sitting in the team lead with a trio of caused turnovers. Steven Phelps is one of four players to win at least one face-off for Lasell and leads the way with 15.
 
In goal, Adam Beauchemin has started both games and stopped 29 shots in 105 minutes of action between the pipes.
 
Recent History: Saturday marks the first meeting between the two programs.
 
What's Next: Mount Saint Mary travels to New Paltz on March 9 to close out the season opening road swing.
