Knights Host Maritime On Senior Day

MSMC closes regular season Saturday afternoon

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Basketball team will round out the 2021-22 regular season on Saturday afternoon when it plays host to Maritime. Live Stats and Video will be available for the 3:00 p.m. tip-off from the Kaplan Center.

At A Glance: Mount Saint Mary enters Saturday's contest at 6-17 overall and 4-11 in Skyline Conference play. The Knights fell at home Thursday night to Manhattanville by a score of 79-57, dropping their fourth straight decision.
 
Chris Yearwood (Red Hook, N.Y.) is the lone Knight to score in double-figures, putting up 14.6 points per game on 41.1-percent shooting overall and an even 40-percent mark from three-point range. Yearwood also checks in with 3.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game for the Knights.
 
Jayden Figueroa (New Windsor, N.Y.) paces the Mount on the glass with a team-high 9.4 rebounds per game and is the team's top rim protector with 1.2 blocks per outing. Figueroa chips in 9.3 points per game and adds just better than one assist per night.
 
Connor Cyran (Garfield, N.J.) and Paul Sienke (Washington, D.C.) each average better than nine points per outing to support the offense with Cyran adding 5.0 rebounds and Sienke posting 4.2 rebounds and a team-high 2.1 assists.
 
Mount Saint Mary is scoring 62.4 points per game through 23 contests on 38.9-percent shooting overall, 29.9-percent shooting from three-point range and a 67.2-perent mark from the free-throw line.
 
Previewing The Privateers: Maritime comes to town on Saturday with a 4-18 overall record and a 1-14 mark in league action. The Privateers stopped a 13-game slide on Tuesday with a 97-90 overtime win on the road at Purchase.
 
Maritime features a pair of players scoring in double-figures in Ryan Donovan and Jaylin Gray. Donovan leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 18.5 points and 6.5 rebounds while handing out nearly three assists per contest. Gray is good for 13.7 points and just under four rebounds per game and paces the squad with 4.5 assists per night.
 
Maritime scores just over 66 points per game on the season and shoots 39.9-percent overall, 26.7-percent from three-point range and 65-percent from the free-throw line.
 
Previous Meeting: The two teams met on January 12 in Throggs Neck with the Mount coming away with a 63-56 victory. The Knights made nine three in the game and received 20 points from Yearwood and 16 points and 14 rebounds from Figueroa. Jack Lotito (Staten Island, N.Y.) came off the bench to collect 10 rebounds and hand out seven assists.
 
Maritime went just 2-for-20 from three-point range in the contest and got a team-high 12 points from Gray who closed the night with eight rebounds and six assists.
 
Recent History: The Knights have won six of the last seven meetings in the series and since the start of the 2006-07 season holds an 18-11 advantage in head-to-head matchups.
