Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Basketball team will play a home-and-home series with Manhattanville to start the final week of the regular season, traveling to the Purchase, N.Y. on Tuesday before hosting the Valiants on Thursday night. At A Glance: Mount Saint Mary begins the final week of the regular season with a 6-15 overall record and a 4-9 mark in league play following a tight 70-67 road loss at Purchase on Saturday afternoon.
Chris Yearwood, after averaging 21 points over three tilts last week, paces the scoring attack with 14.7 points per game for the Knights. Yearwood shoots 40.9-percent overall and just under 40-percent from three-point range. He adds 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest for the Knights.
Jayden Figueroa (New Windsor, N.Y.) averages just shy of a double-double, scoring 9.7 points and securing a team-high 9.6 rebounds per game. Figueroa converts at better than 47-percent from the field and leads the team with 1.2 blocked shots per night.
Connor Cyran (Garfield, N.J.) and
Paul Sienke (Washington, D.C.) support the offense with 9.3 and 8.6 points per game. Cyran contributes 4.8 rebounds, while Sienke is good for just over four rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
Mount Saint Mary scores 62.3 points per game while shooting 38.7-percent overall, 29.6-percent from three-point range and 68.5-percent from the free-throw line.
A Look At The Valiants: Manhattanville begins the week with a 13-7 overall record and a 10-3 mark in league action, one half game up on USMMA for the top spot in the Skyline Conference North Division. The Valiants are on a six-game run, including an 82-50 victory over Sarah Lawrence on Sunday afternoon.
Tommy Lotito leads the Valiants in scoring, assists and steals entering Tuesday's tilt, averaging 12.9 points, 4.7 assists and 2.1 steals per game to go along with 4.4 rebounds per night. Lotito converts at 49-percent from the field overall and nearly 81-percent from the free-throw line.
Petey Galgano shoots better than 50-percent from the floor and knocks down 41.3-percent from three-point range on his way to 10.2 points per contest. He paces Manhattanville with just under seven rebounds per game and hands out 3.3 assists per outing for the Valiants.
Manhattanville scores 71.0 points per game, shooting 44.5-percent overall, 34.3-percent from three-point range and 69.2-percent from the free-throw line.
Recent History: Since the start of the 2006-07 season, Manhattanville holds a 7-2 advantage in the series, including wins in the three of the last four meetings.
