Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Soccer team poured it on against Old Westbury Tuesday night, cruising to a 6-0 victory. Kaitlin Hansen (Port Jervis, N.Y.) scored twice for the Knights in the win.
Tuesday night's win gets the Mount back in the win column as they improve to 5-10-2 overall and 5-3-1 in conference play. Old Westbury falls to 4-9-1, as well as 1-7-1 against Skyline Conference opponents.
First Half
- The first 19 minutes were quiet before the Mount would get the scoring started.
- At the 19:17 mark, Shannon McGowan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) received a pass in front of the net from Julia Accetura (Prospect, C.T.) and potted it on a nice header, giving the Mount a 1-0 lead.
- Hansen would get her first score of the game two minutes later at the 21:02 mark on a feed from Darla Petricca (New Hyde Park, N.Y.), to extend the Knights lead to 2-0.
- Maria Baldwin (Patchogue, N.Y.) added an unassisted score in the 32nd minute to grow the Mount's margin to 3-0, which it would carry into intermission.
- The Knights out shot the Panthers 16-1 in the first half.
- Corner kicks went in the Mount's favor 3-1 prior to the break.
Second Half
- Hansen picked up her second score of the game at the 58:21 mark of the game, this one an unassisted score as the Knights lead grew to 4-0.
- The Knights lead then jumped to 5-0 just 75 seconds later, as Victoria Maffettone (Sayville, N.Y.) netted her third goal of the season.
- Petricca closed out the scoring in the 81st minute with an unassisted goal, which would create the final score of 6-0.
- Mount Saint Mary outshot the Panthers 11-4 after intermission.
- Corner kicks stayed in the Knights favor 2-0.
For The Knights
- Hansen scored twice in the contest, giving her seven for the season.
- McGowan netted her fifth score of the campaign.
- Baldwin added her fourth goal of the year.
- Maffettone scored again, her second goal in as many tilts.
- Petricca chipped in a three-point effort, tallying a goal and an assist.
- Caroline Brucato (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) made two saves in her first shutout of the season.
For The Panthers
- Jessica Pedroza ripped off two shots including one on goal for Old Westbury.
- Natalie Intrieri made eight stops in goal for the Panthers.
Game Statistics
- The Mount outshot Old Westbury 27-5, including 14-2 in shots on goal.
- Mount Saint Mary held the advantage in corner kicks 5-1.
- Fouls were whistled against the Knights 10-8 for the game.

- The Mount plays their final regular season road contest on Saturday, squaring off with St. Joseph's L.I. at noon.
