Knights Set To Take On Ramapo, FDU-Florham At Roadrunner Invitational

Knights back in action after sweeping Purchase on Wednesday

Newburgh, N.Y. – Following a 3-0 road sweep of Purchase on Wednesday, the Mount Saint Mary College Women's Volleyball team steps back out of conference this weekend with a pair of matches at the Roadrunner Invitational hosted by Ramapo. The Knights will take on the host Roadrunners Friday at 6:00 p.m. before clashing with FDU-Florham Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m.

At A Glance: The Knights rebounded from a 3-1 loss at USMMA on Tuesday to seep Purchase Wednesday night and move to 7-5 overall and 2-1 in league play.
 
Grace Riddle (Wantagh, N.Y.) paces the Mount Saint Mary offensive attack with 174 kills, averaging better than four kills per set for the Knights. She has registered at least 10 kills in each of the last eight matches and is hitting .214 on the year. Riddle has also posted 29 service aces, 14 total blocks and 143 digs for the Knights.
 
Freshman Jackie Wolf (Kings Park, N.Y.) is off to a strong start through 12 matches, leading the team with 45 service aces. Wolf has put away 88 kills to date and is averaging nearly three digs per set. Classmate Haley Houghton (Bellerose, N.Y.) is tied for the team lead in blocks with 14.
 
Alyssa Barbara (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) anchors the backline with 160 digs, averaging an even 4.0 digs per set and adds 17 service aces and 23 assists to the offensive attack. Fran Cammarata (Carmel, N.Y.) averages 7.19 assists per set, 309 total helpers, to go along with 103 digs.
 
Last Time Out: The Mount cruised to a 3-0 sweep at Purchase behind 10 kills and 13 digs from Riddle who added six aces. Wolf totaled seven aces for the Knights and chipped in five kills and a team-high 14 digs.
Renee Hydo (Bethpage, N.Y.) rounded out the win with eight kills with Barbara totaling 11 digs and Cammarata posting 19 assists.
 
Scouting Ramapo: The Roadrunners are coming off a 3-0 loss to William Paterson and stand at 1-6 overall on the season and 0-3 in NJAC play.
 
Ashley Pichardo leads the squad with 48 kills with Stephanie Ross putting away 43 winners to date. Caleigh Golabek supports the offense with 19 service aces for Ramapo, while Alexandra Sacchinelli has handed out an even 100 assists.
 
Emma Moran leads the way on defense with 82 digs heading into the weekend with Riley Stewart recording 17 total blocks.
 
A Look At FDU: The Devils have split their 10 matches heading into the weekend, getting back to the .500 mark with a four set victory over Wilkes on Wednesday. Andrienne DeFuria led the way with 14 kills and 11 digs.
 
Through the season's first 10 matches, DeFuria leads the team with 104 winners, averaging better than three per set, and is good for 22 aces and 74 digs. Charlotte Fruscione paces the team with 23 aces and 93 digs, while Erin Ahart has handed out a team-high 142 assists.
 
What's Next: The Knights play their first home match of the season on Tuesday when they welcome league rival Farmingdale State to the Kaplan Center. First serve with the Rams is set for 7:00 p.m.
