Knights Have Unbeaten Streak Stopped By Manhattanville

Decker makes four saves

Purchase, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Soccer team saw its seven-game unbeaten string and its four-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday with a 3-0 road loss at Manhattanville. Zach Decker (Red Hook, N.Y.) finished the contest with four saves in goal for the Knights.
 
Saturday's loss drops Mount Saint Mary to 8-6-1 overall and 7-2-1 in league play, while Manhattanville maintains its first place status in the league standings with a 10-4-2 overall record and an unbeaten 9-0-1 mark against conference rivals.
 
First Half
  • All three goals in Saturday's contest came in a 10-minute stretch in the first half.
  • Eli Pardo got the Valiants on the board with the eventual game winning goal in the 32nd minute when he beat Decker low to the left-hand side at 31:18.
  • Manhattanville doubled its lead when Jostyn Blanco converted the Valiants' second goal just over seven minutes later.
  • Pardo added his second goal of the game exactly 10 minutes after his first when he pushed Manhattanville in front 3-0 after burying a feed from Blanco at 41:18.
