Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Soccer team will step outside of conference for its next two contests when it hosts Montclair State on Wednesday and #11 Hamilton on Sunday afternoon. At A Glance: The Knights enter Wednesday's non-conference affair with the Red Hawks at 7-4-2 overall and are coming off a 1-0 league win over St. Joseph's-L.I. on Saturday afternoon. The Knights are 5-1 in their last six outings to begin the week.
Brittany Bornstad (Linden, N.J.) leads the offensive attack for the Knights with team-highs in goals (5), assists (5) and points (15). She is one of seven players on the roster with at least two goals and paces the team with a pair of deciding tallies.
KellyAnn Platt (Staten Island, N.Y.) has registered four goals to date for the Mount with

Christina Kakavas (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.), who was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week Tuesday morning, has played 777:11 of a possible 11210:00 between the pipes for the Knights and is sporting an .831 save percentage and a 1.16 goals against average. Kakavas has made 49 saves for the Knights and registered a trio of clean sheets.
Caroline Brucato (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) has started five games for the Mount and holds a 1.04 goals against average and an .878 save percentage. She has produced one shutout for the Knights and has made 36 saves in 432:49 of work.
Conference Leaders: Kakavas begins the week as the Skyline Conference leader in save percentage among eligible keepers and is second in goals against average. Bornstad is in a tie for ninth in the league in assists.
Scouting Montclair State: The Red Hawks come calling on Wednesday with a 9-4 overall record. Montclair State has won its last two outings by a combined score of 9-2.
Zoe Steck leads the Montclair offensive attack with 10 goals and 22 points, while Aileen Cahill enters Wednesday's game with six goals and 16 points. Emmi DeNovellis paces the squad with six assists and has added a pair of goals for nine points.
Four goalkeepers have seen game action for Montclair State with Haley Martin and Lindsay Freewalt seeing the bulk of action. Martin has played 774:37 and holds a 1.05 goals against average with 20 saves. Freewalt holds a 0.73 goals against average and an .813 save percentage with 13 stops.
Previewing Hamilton: The Continentals moved up to #11 in Tuesday's United Soccer Coaches Top-25 Poll and enter a Saturday NESCAC affair at Wesleyan with a 10-0-2 overall record. Hamilton has won its last six outings and is outscoring its opponents 9-2 over that stretch.
Rylie Mutton and Hyla Mosher lead the team with six goals apiece and rank first and second on the team with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Olivia Zubarik and Caroline Dawson paces the Continentals with three assists apiece.
Caity Smith and Zoe Katz backstop a defense for Hamilton that has allowed just seven goals in 12 games to date in 2021. Smith has played 829:46 and is posting a .900 save percentage and a 0.65 goal against average. She has stopped 54 shots and posted a pair of shutouts. Katz has seen 290:00 worth of action to date and holds a .938 save percentage and a 0.31 goals against average. She has made 13 saves and has posted two shutouts in three starts.
Recent History: Since 2016, the Mount is winless in four outings against Montclair State, while Sunday's match with Hamilton will be the first between the two sides.
