Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Soccer team returned to action for the first time in a week and dropped a 4-0 non-conference decision at Vassar, its fourth straight defeat. Sophomore KellyAnn Platt (Staten Island, N.Y.) finished the game with eight saves in goal.
 
After a scoreless first half, Vassar erupted for four goals in 25 minutes in the second frame. The Brewers held a slim 8-5 advantage in shots prior to halftime and took the corner kick edge at 2-1. Platt finished the opening 45 minutes with a trio of saves for the Knights.
 
Coming out of the break, Vassar got on the board in the 61^st minute and added a second goal just under two minutes later to open a two-goal advantage. Emily Longo finished off the eventual game winner at 60:55 off a feed from Emma Tanner before Tanner scored at 62:40 with an assist from Gabi Tulk.
 
The Vassar lead expanded to three goals in the 80^th minute and the final of the four goals came in the final five minutes. Longo setup Madio Wallner at the 79:56 mark for the Brewers before Violet Munnelly closed out the scoring at the 85:42 mark of the tilt.
 
Vassar erupted for 18 shots in the second period and rounded out the day with a 26-7 advantage in overall shots, including a 12-2 edge in shots on goal. Corner kicks also went the way of Vassar on the day, 5-2.
 
Senior Chrissy Cannella (Cornwall, N.Y.) led the Mount with three shots on Saturday with Alexa Franceshi (Red Hook, N.Y.) adding two attempts. Lauren Engel (Red Hook, N.Y.) and Liz Ellsworth (Suffern, N.Y.) recorded the shots on goal for the Mount.
 
Making her second career start in goal, Platt finished the day with a career-high eight saves, stopping five shots in the second half. Fiona Walsh made the start in goal for Vassar and made a pair of stops in just over 68 minutes of work.

Saturday's loss drops Mount Saint Mary to 1-6 overall on the season. Next up for the Mount is a non-conference home game with Hartwick. Kick-off with Hawks is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
