Knights Return To Action With A Pair Of Non-Conference Contests

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Soccer team will travel to Ithaca to take on the Bombers on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. They will return home on Saturday to begin a three game homestand against NYU at 2:00 p.m.

At a Glance: The Knights are 3-3-1 (1-0 Skyline) on the season after losing to Union on Saturday, 2-0, but then rebounded to blow out Yeshiva, 9-0

Gina Rivera (8 points) and Theresa Stinson both had hat tricks in the 9-0 victory over Yeshiva. Claire Newman finished the game with three points and Miranda Fennessey had two assists as well.

Cassidy Rykowski picked up her first win of the season in goal for the Knights on Sunday.

A Look At Ithaca: The Bombers are undefeated this season with a record of 5-0-1. They tied with Nazareth College, 1-1, in their most recent matchup.

Ithaca is led by Shoshana Bedrosian, who has five goals on the season. Alex Epifani is the leading assist getter with four. Gabriella Mihale is second on the team in goals with three.

Sara Jakobsze has started all six games in net for the Bombers, posting a GAA of 0.51.

Previewing NYU: The Violets have posted a 3-2 record to start the season. In their most recent contest, they defeated CCNY by a score of 15-0. They will take on the University of Scranton in a mid-week contest before taking on the Knights on Saturday.

Maddie Pena leads the team in points with 11 (3 goals, 5 assists) and Jade Keane leads the team in goals with four and is second in team in points with nine.

Sophia Danielsen has started four of the five games in goal for NYU and has posted a 1.50 GAA.

What's Next: The Knights continues their three game home stand against Manhattanville on Tuesday, September 25 at 6:00 p.m.
