Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Lacrosse team set single game records for shots, goals, assists, points and face-off wins and senior
Dylan De Meo (Franklin Square, N.Y.) became the first player in program history to record 300 points as the Knights eased past Becker on Wednesday night 26-4 for their sixth straight win.
Mount Saint Mary produced a single game record 80 shots, scoring a record 26 points to go along with 20 points and 46 points. The Mount finished with 16 players with at least one point and had 10 players with at least two points in the contest.
De Meo finished the contest with three goals and three assists to eclipse the 300-point plateau in his career. Through Wednesday's contest De Meo holds the career record in points with 303 and is first in career assists with 168 while sitting in a tie for second on the career goals list with 135. He finished off the night with four groundballs.
Senior
Tristan Earle (Millrift, Pa.) led the scoring attack with nine points, scoring three times and assisting on six goals, with
Nicholas Graziano (Franklin Square, N.Y.) tallying five times and assisting on a sixth goal. Graziano scooped two groundballs in the game, with Earle picking up six.
Danny Kugler (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) extended his career record goal total to 156 with three goals on Wednesday and added two assists with
Billy Holland (Pearl River, N.Y.) scoring three times and
Thomas Bahmer III (East Brunswick, N.Y.) posting a goal and two helpers.
The Knights added a single game record 27 face-off wins on Wednesday, with
Kenneth Gallagher (Northport, N.Y.) going 18-for-23 to go along with eight groundballs and a pair of assists. Sophomore
Marco Spagnuolo (Staten Island, N.Y.) added nine wins for the Knights and four groundballs, to go along with a goal.
Gregory Ruocco (Staten Island, N.Y.),
Richard Maher (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) and
James Farrell (East Brunswick, N.J.) each caused two turnovers for the Mount, with
Peter Beidl (Clifton Park, N.Y.) picking up six groundballs and
Anthony Kearns (Clinton, N.J.) adding seven groundballs and scoring a goal.
Senior
Christopher Doerr (Pleasantville, N.Y.) picked up his ninth win of the season in goal, having to make just one save in 15 minutes of work, while
Eli Laikin (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) made another stop in 30 minutes.
Alec Durkin (Mattituck, N.Y.) made his third appearance of the season, playing a season-high 15 minutes.
Mount Saint Mary finished the game with single game record 80 shots, outshooting the Hawks 80-8 overall and 45-6 in shots on goal. The Knights picked up the second highest groundball total in program history with 72 and went a perfect 17-for-17 in clearing chances. The Knights scored six times with the man-advantage on Wednesday, tying the program record for most man-up goals in a game.
At 9-4 overall on the season, Mount Saint Mary returns to Skyline Conference play on Saturday when it travels to the College of Mount Saint Vincent. Face-off with the Dolphins is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
