Knights Open Four Game Home Stand Against St. Joseph's-Brooklyn

MSMC looking to extend five game winning streak

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Soccer team begins a four game homestand on Wednesday against St. Joseph's-Brooklyn at 5 p.m. On Saturday, they host Purchase at 3:00 p.m. in the second game of a doubleheader.

At a Glance: The Knights are 8-4-1 (4-0 Skyline) on the season after shutting out Mount Saint Vincent, 3-0, and defeating St. Joseph's-LI, 3-2 last week.

Gina Rivera and Theresa Stinson are tied for the lead in goals with six apiece. Brittany Bornstad is the leader in assists with four. Cassidy Rykowski has posted a 1.48 goals against average for the season, with a record of 5-2.

A Look At St. Joseph's-Brooklyn: The Bears are 6-6 (3-2 Skyline) after defeating Old Westbury, 1-0, on Saturday.

Deserae Sequeira leads the team in goals and is tied for the conference lead in tallies with 11. Anisah Molic is second with nine, and Julia Lavelle is third with 8. Molic leads the team in assists with eight and Sequeira is second with six.

Reem Shaban has started all 12 games in goal for the Bears, posting a 3.20 GAA, making 66 saves for the season.

Previewing Purchase: The Panthers are 2-6 on the season after shutting out Yeshiva, 6-0. The Panthers will face Mount Saint Vincent on Wednesday.

Rebecca Colgan is the leader in goals with six and Brett Robison is second on the team with four. Colgan and Allie Scarpa are tied for the assists lead with two.

Amber Yarter and Ashley Blom have split the time in goal for the Panthers. Yarter has posted a 3.84 GAA, making 45 saves, and Blom has posted a 1.58 GAA, making 14 saves.

What's Next: The Knights continue their homestand against Maritime on Wednesday, October 16. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
